Betsy Vance Peterzell is an established corporate attorney in Atlanta, having over 30 years of legal and business experience covering most aspects of doing business from the start-up venture to the well-established
corporation. Betsy acts as outside general counsel for many of her clients from handling large transactions to litigation oversight to day to day business matters including risk assessment, strategic planning for growth and succession, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, contract drafting, and negotiation, business organization and efficiencies, executive and employer-employee matters, franchise, sales, and distribution, and intellectual property.
Her clients have included domestic and foreign-based
businesses in most industry segments including technology, entertainment, sports marketing, healthcare, food service, publishing, retail,
franchising, manufacturing, telecommunications,
marketing-advertising, printing, industrial machinery,
import/export, engineering, investment advising,
construction, real estate, software, finance, insurance,
transportation and other industries.
After receiving her J.D. degree from Emory
University School of Law, Betsy practiced law at two of Atlanta’s
largest law firms. She was also a partner in a boutique litigation firm where she expanded the firm’s capabilities to include a full-service corporate law practice. She received her B.A. double major degree, with honors, from Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
In addition to her law practice, Betsy has significant experience in
business from advising businesses to running her own
companies including a manufacturing and engineering
company. She founded The Executive Breakfast Series,
was Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of The
American SIDS Institute, served on the Georgia Committee to
approve applications for the National Women’s
Business Certification acted as Special Counsel to the
Board of Directors of ProWIN, been a member
of numerous business and finance organizations, and served on clients’ Boards of Directors. Betsy
has also been part owner of a restaurant, a merit
badge coach for Boy Scouts of America, and community volunteer.
